For many employees here at Finger Lakes Distilling, our staff isn’t just a group of people working together. It’s also a close-knit community made up of old friends, new friends, and even family. Pat Lebaron, our next FLD featured staff member, is a perfect example of all three.
A native to the Finger Lakes region, Pat enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a department/program manager at Corning Incorporated until retiring about ten years ago. Six years in to retirement, she came across Finger Lakes Distilling and saw the opportunity to learn more about the spirits industry and stay active in an engaging work environment. Since then, she’s been a huge asset to our operations here at FLD, applying her organizational skills and her keen eye to all aspects of our tasting room and retail store. She is now one of our tasting room managers and plays a huge role in efficiently managing our merchandising and inventory system. She has become endearingly known as the “boss lady” among our staff, and as her granddaughter and tasting room co-worker so eloquently puts it, she’s usually the person “keeping it all together up there (in the tasting room)”. Pat loves that she was able to transition between “two great companies, each with a growing corporate structure that still encourages a welcoming family environment where everyone is on a first-name basis.”
Recently, Pat had the chance to work downstairs in production for a day and had a blast! She thanks our head distiller, Jared, for offering this opportunity to tasting room employees to better understand the products as well as the process that goes in to making every bottle of our spirits.
Next time you stop by our tasting room, strike up a conversation with Pat. She knows all the tastiest recipes and ideas for cooking with our spirits, and all the best spots and activities when you vacation here for a taste of the lake life!
