Father’s Day the Whiskey Way

by

Your dad called. He said he wants something a little different this year. No, we’re not talking about switching out the traditional paisley patterned tie for a classy checkered pattern – we’re talkin’ whiskey. Lucky for you, we’ve compiled a quick list of last minute Father’s Day gifts, and the best part? All of them are available right here at Finger Lakes Distilling! Read on for more brilliant ideas to make this Father’s Day one he’ll never forget (depending on how much of your gift he actually drinks).

1.) Whiskey (duh).

Demonstrate to dad that not only did he manage to raise you, but he raised you to have exceptional taste! Congratulate him on a job well done with a bottle of McKenzie Whiskey. Our selection covers all tastes: Bourbon for the traditionalist, Rye for the Manhattan lover, and our Celtic-style Pure Pot Still for the dad who appreciates a smooth, easy sipping whiskey.

2.) More Whiskey (double duh).

If you REALLY want to show dad some love this Father’s Day, pick up one of our last remaining bottles of our McKenzie Single Barrel Wheated Bourbon Whiskey, released on May 6th. This batch is going fast, and for good reason. Bottled at cask strength of 108.4 proof, this wheated bourbon is surprisingly smooth and one of a kind. Grab a bottle of this very special release for a very special guy.

3.) A Tour of Finger Lakes Distilling

It’s not a coincidence that “dad” and “distillery” start with the same letter. For the curious dads out there, bring him out to FLD for a tour of the facility to check out all of our shiny copper equipment and to learn more about the whiskey making process. Our McKenzie Whiskey Tour is a full hour walking tour around the premises stopping at all three buildings and ending with a tasting of your choice for a full grain to glass experience. If you’re short on time but big on whiskey, bring dad in for our Barrel House Flight. This abridged version of the tour features a quick look in our production area and a whiskey tasting flight in the barrel house, where you can soak in the scent of patiently aging whiskeys. Stop in Father’s Day weekend for one of these awesome experiences, or surprise dad with tickets for a future date! Click Here to see all available tour dates and to make a reservation.

4.) The Necessities.

To the naked eye, these may seem to just be fun accessories, but to the highly astute, well-trained eye of your whiskey-sippin’ padre, these are necessary items. Show dad how much he ROCKS with a set of whiskey stones and a Finger Lakes Distilling rocks glass. If he is a true jedi of fatherhood, he’ll get the not-so-hidden dad joke.
